A 22-year-old man died after being stabbed in a park in Montreal’s Saint-Laurent borough Saturday night.
The SPVM says it is the 26th homicide on its territory this year.
Two 19-year-old men were also injured in the same armed attack. One of them remained in critical condition Sunday morning, while the other was in stable condition.
The three victims were injured in the upper body by a sharp object.
Calls were made to 911 around 9:15 p.m. Saturday regarding three people injured by a sharp object in a park near the intersection of Jules-Poitras Street and Deguire Blvd., said Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the SPVM.
Police located the three victims upon arriving at the scene. All three people were then transported to a hospital.
Police have interviewed potential witnesses, but no arrests have been made in connection with the case yet.
A perimeter has been erected to protect the scene for investigators and forensic technicians, who will attempt to shed light on the circumstances of this event.
Investigators from the SPVM’s major crimes section are responsible for conducting the investigation.
