Traffic resumed on Highway 30 in Boucherville, on Montreal’s South Shore on Thursday, following the pileup the day before that left two dead and four injured.
The collision between a heavy truck and several vehicles that occurred Wednesday afternoon forced the closure of Highway 30 eastbound at Montarville Blvd.
The traffic obstruction continued for several hours while emergency crews completed their work, but the eastbound lanes were reopened Thursday morning.

Two people, a woman and a child, were killed in the pileup.
Four other people were also injured, but their lives are not believed to be in danger.
“Our investigation is still ongoing,” SQ spokesperson Camille Savoie told CityNews on Thursday morning. “We are calling for witnesses or people who have cameras in their vehicle.”
Emergency services were called to kilometer 82 of Highway 30 on Wednesday to respond the collision involving several vehicles and a heavy truck.
According to SQ spokesperson Élizabeth Marquis-Guy, it appears that the truck was unable to brake as traffic slowed.
