Montrealers who rely on public transit are urged to plan ahead as STM maintenance workers are set to strike again starting Monday.
Disruptions are expected, especially during non-peak hours, from Sept. 22 to Oct. 5, unless an understanding between parties is reached.
Here’s what commuters need to know
During this time, bus and metro schedules will be restricted, the STM said: On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Buses and the metro will only operate during peak hours on these days, from 6:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Service will resume nightly at 11 p.m. until closing.
On Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, regular schedules will remain in place and adapted transit will continue to run as usual.

“Paratransit service is maintained during the strike,” the STM wrote on their website.
“The lost and found counter, located at Berri-UQAM station, remains available by phone during the strike. However, If you need to go to the counter, please refer to the restricted métro hours,” they added.
The Syndicat du transport de Montréal – which represents more than 2,400 workers, is seeking a 25 per cent wage increase over five years.
The STM argues it needs more flexibility in scheduling and subcontracting to deal with financial pressures.
To reduce confusion for commuters, the STM says it has increased signage and audio messages in stations. Departure times for the last trains during strike days will also be clearly posted.
They are also asking commuters to plan ahead by visiting the reduced schedule on their website.
This strike action comes after a similar walkout in June that left many riders scrambling for alternatives.
