Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating after a vehicle was set on fire in Montreal North early Wednesday morning.

At around 4:45 a.m. a call was made to 911 about the incident on the corner of Désy Avenue and Maurice-Duplessis Blvd.

When officers arrived to the scene, they said that they located a burning vehicle — firefighters quickly brought the flames under control.

“According on the first information that we have, the cause of the fire was criminal,” said Julien Lévesque, a SPVM spokesperson.

No arrests have been made so far, and no reported injuries.

An investigation is ongoing from the SPVM’s arson unit.
