Caught in turmoil for several months, Premier François Legault will appear on Sunday’s episode of “Tout le monde en parle.”
Legault appears on the guest list for the first episode of the 22nd season of “Tout le monde en parle,” which was unveiled Friday morning.
Other guests include NBA champion Lugentz Dort and writer Kim Thúy.
Former Natural Resources Minister Maïté Blanchette Vézina left the CAQ caucus with a bang on Thursday. At a press conference, Blanchette Vézina announced that she would now sit as an independent and called on the premier to step down.
The cabinet reshuffle, which Premier Legault carried out to give his government a second wind, has also created another discontented figure: François Bonnardel, a veteran who lost his position as Minister of Public Security and has made his dissatisfaction known. Bonnardel was not present at Thursday’s CAQ caucus meeting.
Legault has repeatedly assured that he will be in the running for the next election in 2026, despite his government’s setbacks on SAAQclic and Northvolt, among others.
The Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) also suffered several defeats in the recent by-elections, which were won by the Parti Québécois (PQ). Another by-election is to be held in the riding of Chicoutimi, following the resignation of former minister Andrée Laforest, who is running for mayor of Saguenay.
According to the Qc125 poll aggregator, the CAQ has 14 per cent of voting intentions, which would translate into no seats in Quebec as a whole.
The PQ tops the voting intentions with 37 per cent, which would allow it to obtain a majority government.
