Massage parlour targeted by arson attack in Montreal’s Hochelaga

A massage parlour was the target of an arson attack in Montreal’s Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve on Thursday evening.

Montreal police (SPVM) received 911 calls at around 10:20 p.m. about a fire in a building on Sainte-Catherine Street East, near Davidson Street.

“It’s some witnesses that saw a suspect that might have thrown an incendiary object on the building,” said a SPVM media relations officer, Jeanne Drouin. “The suspect fled before the police arrived on site.”

The occupants of the premises were evacuated, and no one was injured.

According to Drouin, no suspects have been arrested at this time.

The investigation has been transferred to the SPVM’s arson squad.
