Mercier Bridge closed this weekend, other road closures expected

The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité is informing road users that disruptions are expected this weekend.

The Mercier Bridge, towards Montreal, will be completely closed to traffic between Friday Sept. 26 at 11 p.m. and Monday Sept. 29 at 5 a.m. The bridge will remain open going towards the South Shore. The closure is due to asphalting work.

Highway 25 toward the South Shore, between Exit 5 (Route 138, Hochelaga Street, Sherbrooke Street) and Souligny Ave., will be closed during the night of Sept. 27 to 28. This obstruction is required in order to set up a detour of Highway 25 toward the South Shore that will allow repair work to be carried out on the structures of the Souligny interchange.

De Boucherville Street will also be closed every night of the week to carry out repair work on the structures on Souligny Ave.

Complete night closures will also be in place in the area of the Highway 20 and Highway 25 interchange and Highway 132 during the weekend of September 26.

These obstructions are required in order to carry out maintenance work.

Highway 25 toward the South Shore

• Complete closure of Highway 25 toward the South Shore between Exit 5 (Route 138, Hochelaga Street, Sherbrooke Street) and Souligny Avenue, from Saturday 11 p.m. to Sunday 9 a.m.
  • The Sherbrooke Street entrance will be closed 30 minutes before the highway is completely closed.
  • The Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel will remain open and will be accessible from Souligny Avenue eastbound.

De Boucherville Street

• Night closure of De Boucherville Street northbound between Tellier and Hochelaga streets, Monday to Friday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Highway 20 and Highway 25 and Highway 132 interchange

• Closure of the access ramps from Marie-Victorin Boulevard eastbound to Highway 20 eastbound from Friday 9:30 p.m. to Saturday 8 a.m.
• Closure of exit 90 (Varennes, La Prairie, USA) of Highway 20 eastbound, from Friday 10 p.m. to Saturday 8 a.m.
• Closure of the access ramp from Highway 132 eastbound to Highway 20 eastbound from Friday 10 p.m. to Saturday 8 a.m.
• Closure of exit 90 (Highway 20 West, Route 132, Varennes, La Prairie, USA, P.E.-Trudeau Airport) of Highway 20 westbound, from Saturday 10 p.m. to Sunday 9 a.m.
