Three injured after collision on Montreal’s South Shore

Three people were injured following a multi-vehicle collision early Wednesday morning on Montreal’s South Shore in Saint-Hubert. Longueuil police are investigating what led to the crash.

A 30-year-old woman was taken to hospital in critical condition after a multi-vehicle collision early Wednesday morning on Montreal’s South Shore. By 9:30 a.m. authorities confirmed her life was out of danger.

It all happened around 6:35 a.m., Longueuil police (SPAL) responded to a call at the intersection of John-Molson Street and Rte de l’Aéroport.

“Two vehicles and a pedestrian were involved in a collision, and a streetlight was also struck,” the SPAL said. “Three people were injured, one seriously.”

In a Facebook post at around 8 a.m., the SPAL explained that traffic was completely blocked on Rte de l’Aéroport between Clairevue Blvd. and John Molson Street.

“Our teams remain on site to secure the area, determine the causes of the collision,” they said. “And support our emergency services partners.”

“We asked for our investigators, members of the section de l’identité judiciaire, and from patrouille spécialisée – that are reconstructionists, [to come to] the scene,” said François Boucher, SPAL spokesperson.

 “We want to know exactly what happened before the collision. So we know that there were fog this morning. Is there any distraction in cause also? At this point from our first look on scene there is no criminal elements to reveal on that.”

Police are also are looking to meet any witness who were there at the moment of the collision.
