A new Leger poll shows the gap between Quebec men and women when it comes to support of sovereignty still exists.
Out of the men who responded, 42 per cent said they support making Quebec a country, while 32 per cent of women are in favour.
This difference is similar to numbers Quebec saw during the referendums in 1980 and 1995.
What concerns women more than men are the consequences of independence. The poll shows women are still more concerned than men when it comes to financial and economic consequences of independence.
If PQ leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon wins the next Quebec election he has promised to hold a referendum on independence.
