18-year-old injured during armed assault in a Montreal park: SPVM

Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating after an 18-year-old was injured with a sharp object during an armed assault in a Montreal park early Wednesday evening.

Around 7:15 p.m., officers received a 911 call regarding the incident in a park near the intersection of de L’Épée Avenue and de Liège Street, in the Villeray—Saint-Michel—Parc-Extension borough.

“Onsite the police officers located the victim, an 18-year-old man,” said Jeanne Drouin, a SPVM Media relations officer.

She explained that the man was injured to his upper body and taken to hospital, authorities do not fear for his life.

No arrests have been so far, an investigation is ongoing.
