Over 35,000 Montrealers lose power amid morning outages

A wave of power outages left more than 35,000 Hydro Quebec customers in Montreal without electricity early Monday.

As of 2:30 p.m., about 25,689 clients in Montreal were affected due to 23 interruptions, according to Hydro-Québec.

In Montreal, there were about 13 outages, east of Highway 25 in the Point-aux-Trembles area. About 22 service interruptions in Outaouais resulted in more than 2,600 outages.

Hydro-Québec says the cause for the outages is an issue at the Montreal East substation.
