Showers settle over Montreal, bringing long week of drizzle

Umbrellas will be a daily essential this week as the weather in Montreal brings persistent rain.
On Monday, Montrealers can expect cloudy and showers in the morning. Risk of a thunderstorm this afternoon. About 15 to 25 millimetres of rain by evening, the temperature is expected to hold steady near 18 °C.
Rain is set to continue overnight, with an additional 10 to 20 mm expected. The overnight low will dip to 12 °C.
Tuesday will bring more rainy conditions, with periods of rain ending near noon, followed by a 40 per cent chance of lingering showers through the afternoon. The temperature will remain steady near 12 °C. Cloudy periods are expected Tuesday night, with a low near 10 °C.
The wet pattern continues into Wednesday, with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a high of 12°C, followed by showers overnight and a low of 7 °C.
Rain will persist Thursday, with a high near 10 °C and periods of rain continuing overnight, dipping to a low of 5 °C.
A brief break may come by Friday, with a mix of sun and cloud and a 40 per cent chance of showers. The high will reach 10°C, falling to plus 2 overnight under cloudy periods.
