Ensemble Montréal leader releases tax return

Following the call of Projet Montréal leader Luc Rabouin, Ensemble Montréal leader Soraya Martinez Ferrada has released her 2024 income tax return.

Martinez Ferrada’s salary was based in accordance with the Parliament of Canada Act, the Salaries Act, the Departments and Ministers of State Act, and the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians Act, after serving as a Member of the House of Commons and a federal government minister, before resigning in February. With this, her salary was already public knowledge.

Despite this, as the leader of Ensemble Montréal, Martinez Ferrada gets no salary.

“I’m running for mayor because of my attachment to Montreal. It’s the city I arrived in at the age of 8, where I grew up, and where I’ve lived for 45 years. It has given me so much, as it has for all of us, and now the time has come for strong leadership so that Montreal once again becomes the city we loved so much,” said Ferrada.

Martinez Ferrada’s 2024 taxes:

  • Gross employment income: $296,787
  • Gross real estate income: -$16,991
  • Total net income (after deductions): $214,002
