By News Staff

A 73-year-old woman was hospitalized after being beaten during a home invasion in her home on Montreal’s South Shore on Monday night.

Longueuil Police (SPAL) were called to the incident shortly before 2:00 a.m. on Roosevelt Street, in the Saint-Hubert area.

“She was taken to the hospital where she was treated by medical personnel,” the SPAL said in a Facebook post. “There was a second person in the residence, one of the victim’s sons, who was not assaulted.”

“Everything suggests that the suspect acted alone,” the SPAL added.

The 73-year-old “received several blows,” police explained, adding that no arrests have been made so far.

SPAL is asking anyone who has information regarding this event to contact them anonymously at 450-646-8500
