The Rocky Horror Picture Show Halloween Ball returns for a spectacular four-night celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the cult classic film.
The beloved annual event takes over two of Montreal’s venues: the vintage Rialto Theatre on Oct. 29 & 30, and the retro Décarie Theatre on Oct. 31 & Nov. 1.
Fans can expect the full interactive experience, the original 1975 film screened in vintage 35mm, a live shadow cast, and all the outrageous audience participation that’s made this Montreal’s top Halloween tradition for five decades.

“The original extra part of the experience is that the actors that are pantomiming parts of the performances throughout the whole film create a sense, not just of 3d, but of something that essentially can’t be repeated,” said Peaches Lepoz, MC of The Rocky Horror Picture Show Halloween Ball.
“If you’re really interested in gender politics, if you’re really interested in just musicals, this has something for everyone, including still, surprisingly, 50 years later, a certain kind of shock value,” added Lepoz.

With eight screenings in four days, a wild costume contest, the infamous Time Warp dance, and a fabulous MC leading the chaos, the Rocky Horror Ball promises to be the city’s most unforgettable party of the season.
Starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, and Barry Bostwick, The Rocky Horror Picture Show remains a classic, and this year’s golden anniversary promises to be a celebration fans won’t soon forget.

CityNews spoke with some Rocky Horror Picture Show fans who said they were excited to experience the show.
“The immersive crowd is going to be amazing, the fact that you get to toss things and participate is really cool,” said one Montrealer.
“I’ve been a fan of the rocky horror picture show for at least 20 years and this is the first time I am seeing it in Montreal – I’ve been trying to get tickets for 10 years and it lined up perfectly,” said another.
“I’m really into it and I’m always bringing people because I think they’re super fun!” said another.
