Fire at an encampment in Montreal’s Plateau

The Montreal Fire Department (SIM) put out a small fire at an encampment in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough on Thursday morning.

The SIM said that they responded to a call at around 9:06 a.m. regarding trash set on fire in the encampment at the corner of D’Iberville street and Saint-Joseph Blvd.

Montreal police told CityNews that the incident was not criminal in nature.

No injures were reported, and the SIM explained that there was no risk that the flames would spread.
