21-year-old pedestrian stable after collision in Dollard-des-Ormeaux

A 21-year-old pedestrian is in stable condition after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday in Dollard-des-Ormeaux.

The Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 7 p.m. to report a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at the intersection of Des Sources Blvd. and De Salaberry Blvd.

According to initial reports, the 60-year-old driver struck the pedestrian who was crossing the intersection as she was turning right onto De Salaberry Blvd.

First responders arrived on the scene and treated the victim, who was conscious and lying on the ground when they arrived.

The young pedestrian “had no apparent injuries at first glance,” said Jeanne Drouin, spokesperson for SPVM

He was rushed to the hospital where he was said to be in critical condition last evening. However, as of Thursday morning he is in stable condition.

A search for surveillance camera footage and witnesses was still underway Wednesday evening.

A perimeter was set up to protect the scene during operations, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances of the collision.
