SPVM seizes $230K in drugs, arrests two in Montreal–Laval raid

Montreal Police (SPVM) arrested two individuals and seized nearly $230,000 worth of illegal drugs following a series of searches.
The operation, conducted on Wednesday in the borough of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension and in Laval, targeted a drug trafficking network.
During the raid, officers confiscated several types of narcotics, including 6 kg of cocaine and almost 7 kg of crystal methamphetamine.
One suspect, 33-year-old Karim Chawki, appeared at the Montreal courthouse to face charges related to drug possession and trafficking. His alleged accomplice was released without charges.
According to the SPVM, the investigation and arrests were carried out by the Narcotics Module of Project East, in collaboration with various SPVM units, including neighbourhood station 31.
