A driver in his 60s died in a collision on Sunday in Sainte-Julienne, in the Lanaudière region.
Police are investigating the possibility that he may have suffered a medical emergency.
Sûreté du Québec (SQ) police officers from the Montcalm MRC were called to Route 337 at around 2 p.m. in connection with a collision involving two vehicles.
“The driver of the vehicle travelling southbound reportedly lost control and ended up in the other lane. At that moment, there was an impact with a pickup truck travelling in the opposite direction,” explained Camille Savoie, spokesperson for the SQ.
Resuscitation efforts were attempted on the driver of the vehicle. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and was not taken to hospital.
An investigation is underway to determine the causes and circumstances of this incident. At first glance, the theory of illness is being considered, Savoie said.
