Man dead after critical injuries in Pierrefonds-Roxboro apartment fire

A man who was found unconscious in his apartment amid a fire last Friday in Pierrefonds-Roxboro has died.

Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for Montreal police (SPVM), said that they received an update on Sunday that “the 66-year-old had died, unfortunately, from his injuries at the hospital.”

On Friday around 11:40 a.m., SPVM were called to assist the Fire department at a 16-unit residential building on Pierrefonds Blvd., near des Sources Blvd.

The building was completely evacuated, and the fire, mainly concentrated in one apartment, was brought under control by firefighters.

The man was found unresponsive and transported to hospital in critical condition, where he died.

The cause of the fire remains unknown and investigation is ongoing.
