One dead, seven injured in multi-vehicle accident in Estrie

One woman is dead, and seven others are injured, after a collision on Wednesday afternoon between a school bus and four vehicles in Bury in Quebec’s Estrie region.

Emergency services were called to Route 108 near Card Road at 3:30 p.m., according to Élizabeth Marquis-Guy, spokesperson with the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

According to initial reports, a single driver was onboard the school bus when it collided with four vehicles.

She was not injured, but eight others were taken to the hospital.

A woman in her 60s died from her injuries, and a man in his 80s remains in critical condition.

A collision specialist is analyzing the scene to understand the circumstances of the incident, and an SQ investigation is underway.
