SAQ reports net income of $336.5M for second quarter, down 0.4%

The Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) announced Thursday net income of $336.5 million for the second quarter of fiscal year 2025-2026, which ended September 13.

This represents a slight decrease of $1.3 million, or 0.4 per cent, compared to the same quarter last year.

Total sales in dollars increased by 0.4 per cent to $950.3 million. Sales volume stood at 50.7 million liters, a decrease of 4 per cent.

Sales in the SAQ’s network of stores and specialty centers increased by $14.3 million, or 1.6 per cent, compared to the same quarter last year. This reflects a decrease in sales volume of 0.6 million liters, or 1.3 per cent.

Sales to the wholesale and grocery store network were down $10.7 million, or 14.8 per cent, compared to the same quarter last year, reflecting a decrease in sales volume of 1.5 million liters, or 20 per cent.

Government revenues reached $624 million, down $8 million compared to the same quarter last year.

Amounts payable to the Quebec Treasury reached $507 million, while those payable to the federal government amounted to $117 million.
