$126M Lotto Max jackpot could bring big wins to Quebec this Friday

“I wouldn’t be working tomorrow for sure,” said one Montrealer about what he would do if he won the $80 million Lotto Max jackpot, as players across Quebec eye a total prize of $126 million in Friday’s draw.

Lotto Max is offering a massive jackpot of around $126 million in Friday’s draw, including a top prize of $80 million and roughly 46 Maxmillions prizes of $1 million each.

Asked what they would do with an $80 million win, Montrealers had big plans. “I would move to Canada,” said one man visiting from Australia. “I’ll buy a huge property up near Mont-Tremblant and go skiing every day.”

In the most recent draw on Tuesday, four Maxmillions prizes were won on tickets sold in Quebec.

Others said work would be the first thing to go. “I wouldn’t be working tomorrow for sure,” said one Montrealer. “I’d probably just go travel somewhere. Travel is the main thing I would do.”

Since its launch, Lotto Max has awarded more than $4.1 billion in prizes to Quebecers.

“I’d do everything,” another Montrealer said. “I’d give a lot to charity, spoil my family, go on vacation and quit working forever.”

The $80 million top prize has been won three times since the fall of 2024, with Quebec claiming half of the jackpot twice.

The province has seen 49 Lotto Max jackpots in total, including three of $70 million, the largest in Quebec’s history, along with several prizes ranging from $50 million to $65 million.

Others were thinking even bigger. “Maybe I’ll buy houses,” one person said. “Lots of big houses, big mansions.”
