Possible arson under investigation in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve

Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating a possible arson after a fire was reported early this morning at a residential building that accommodates clientele with special needs in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.

Authorities received several 911 calls around 2 a.m. reporting flames near the intersection of Bruxelles and Sainte-Claire streets.

While no incendiary devices were found at the scene, SPVM say there are elements suggesting a criminal nature. The case has now been handed over to the arson unit, and nearby surveillance camera footage will be reviewed as part of the investigation.
