Montreal Children’s Hospital warns of measles exposure

The Montreal Children’s Hospital (MCH) is warning of a measles exposure.

The hospital says people who were in the pediatric emergency room (Glen B block, level S1) on New Year’s Day between 12:18 p.m. and 11:01 p.m. may have been exposed.

The highly contagious virus can spread through the air, the MCH says.

Quebec previously confirmed measles cases linked to a pediatric medical centre in St-Eustache.

More than 5,300 measles cases were reported in Canada in 2025, mostly in Ontario and Alberta.

A total of 36 cases were reported in Quebec during an outbreak earlier in 2025.

The Quebec government and the MCH say vaccination is the best protection against measles.
