Technical problems affecting online bookings on SAAQclic

Quebec’s auto insurance board (SAAQ) suspended part of its online booking services on the SAAQclic website due to technical issues during the holidays.

As of Wednesday morning, a message on the page to book some appointments stated “technical problems are currently affecting appointment taking. We are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.”

“We detected a technical issue on our online appointment booking platform. On December 30, we closed certain time slots to prevent errors, particularly for January 2 and 3,” said Simon-Pierre Poulin, a spokesperson for the SAAQ in an email to CityNews.

“Citizens were still able to book appointments for later dates. In-person services were offered according to regular schedules, appointments were honored, and, except for a three-hour maintenance operation on December 31, the SAAQclic platform remained functional,” Poulin added.

The SAAQ says mitigation measures are currently being implemented, and solutions are being tested to resolve the issue.

They ask anyone having trouble while booking an appointment online to call an agent who can assist you at 1-800-361-7620.

SAAQclic made headlines in 2025 due to massive overspending and technical problems.

It led to the Gallant commission, investigating what happened. The report from that commission is expected in February.
