Montreal police (SPVM) is renewing its appeal for information on the unsolved 2018 murder of Elisha Vernon Davis, 31, in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough.
Davis was fatally shot shortly after midnight on Dec. 3, 2018, during a musical event bringing together many artists from several major Canadian cities, including Toronto, at a licensed establishment on Saint-Laurent Blvd. near Mont-Royal Ave. An individual opened fire inside the premises.
In the aftermath, as several customers rushed outside, various altercations broke out around the business. During these moments, a suspect fired in the direction of Vernon Davis, who was fatally shot.
Investigators are trying to identify a suspect seen in images of a video captured during the events. The SPVM has released surveillance footage showing a man wearing a Toronto Raptors cap and a blue-purple hoodie.
Citizens who recognize the individual or have information are asked to contact the SPVM at meurtre.nonresolu@spvm.qc.ca, call 911, go to your local police station, or report anonymously to Info-Crime Montréal at 514-393-1133. Rewards of up to $5,000 may apply.
