The REM service between Bois-Franc and Côte-de-Liesse was fully restored Tuesday afternoon after crews repaired a rail break.
“We confirm that the REM is now operating on its regular schedule across the entire network,” a spokesperson told CityNews.
The service was previously running at reduced speed in both directions, and passengers were required to change trains at those stations.
The rail break near Bois-Franc station was spotted during the track inspection from Sunday to Monday
“A rail break is a phenomenon frequently encountered in rail transport during extreme temperatures, like those we have experienced in recent days. Teams attempted to permanently repair the rail last night, but without success. The difficult weather conditions complicated the work of the teams, and the interventions on the rail could not be completed,” the REM told CityNews earlier Tuesday.
