Cold snap continues with snow on the way in Montreal

A stretch of bitter winter weather is settling in, bringing frigid temperatures and periods of snow through the weekend.

Clearing skies early today will give way to cold but calm conditions, with winds up to 15 km/h and a high of minus−9 celsius. Wind chills will hover near minus−18 C. Tonight stays cold as clouds gradually increase, dipping to minus−15 C, with wind chills falling to minus−21 C overnight.

Friday remains mainly cloudy, with light snow developing late in the afternoon. The high will reach minus−8 C, though it will feel much colder, with morning wind chills near minus−21 C. Snow continues into the night, with a low of minus−12 C.

Flurries are expected Saturday under colder conditions, with a high of minus−13 C and a nighttime low near minus−21 C. Sunday brings a break from the clouds, turning sunny but staying frigid, topping out at minus−15 C. Clear skies overnight will push lows down to minus−18 C.

Sunshine continues into Monday with a milder high of minus−8 C. Cloudy periods return overnight, with temperatures falling to minus−15 C.

Despite brief snowfall and persistent cold, clearer skies and slightly milder temperatures are expected by early next week.
