Extreme cold to start the week in Montreal, snow on Tuesday

The cold snap that gripped the weekend is set to spill over to start the week as Montrealers will rise on Monday to a wind chill of minus-26 Celsius.

Monday will be sunny through the day with a high of minus-9 C and wind chill going down to minus-16 C in the afternoon.

The evening will be partly cloudy and windy with a low of minus-12 C and with wind chill it will feel like minus-18 C. There is a 30 per cent chance of flurries.

Tuesday will have another cold start with a wind chill of minus-16 C. The day is expected be cloudy with a high of minus-6 C.

Snow is start in the afternoon with 2 centimetres are expected. Evening would see periods of snow with a low of minus-8 C.

Wednesday is forecast to be cloudy with daytime highs of minus-4 C. The evening sees clear skies, but the temperature is expected to plunge to minus-11 C.

Thursday will be sunny with a high of minus-4 C during the day. Cloud periods will set in Thursday evening with a low of minus-9 C.

The week wraps with Friday seeing a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent of flurries. Temperatures will see a high of minus-7 C and a low of minus-12 C.
