Montreal’s iconic Saint-Joseph’s Oratory opens new reception pavilion

After years of planning and construction, Saint-Joseph’s Oratory opened its doors with a new reception pavilion.

The new pavilion was designed to better welcome the nearly two million visitors who come each year to this iconic Montreal site.

A 36-metre glass bell tower now marks the main entrance and houses the Oratory’s carillon bells.

It now provides an accessible route to the basilica, replacing the previous system that relied on shuttle transport and steep access routes.

Facilities such as the shop and cafeteria have also been relocated to modern spaces.
