19-year-old out of danger after overnight armed assault in Longueuil

A 19-year-old man is in hospital after being seriously injured in an armed assault early Thursday morning in Longueuil.
Police say they received several 911 calls around 3:30 a.m. reporting a man wounded on Saint-Édouard Street, possibly by a sharp weapon.
Officers and paramedics treated the victim at the scene before transporting him to hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition.
Longueuil police spokesperson Marie Beauvais later said the man’s life is no longer in danger.
A security perimeter was established while investigators examined the scene.
No suspects have been arrested.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and are asking anyone with information to contact 911 or the Info-Azimut tip line.
