Two children injured in Montreal West crash

 Two children were taken to hospital with minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Montreal West on Monday morning.

Emergency crews responded to the intersection of Westminster Ave. South and Ainslie Road around 7:50 a.m. after a 911 call reporting the collision.

Montreal police (SPVM) say a 36-year-old woman was driving south on Westminster and had come to a complete stop at a stop sign before moving forward again. As she began to proceed through the intersection, her vehicle struck the two children, aged 12 and 13.

Both youths were transported to hospital as a precaution. Police say their injuries are minor and not considered life-threatening.

Investigators believe the incident was accidental and say there is no indication of criminal wrongdoing.
