Fire breaks out at Longueuil encampment

A fire broke out early Wednesday morning at an encampment in Longueuil’s Greenfield Park borough, just south of Montreal.
According to Longueuil police (SPAL), a 911 call reporting flames came in shortly before 6:20 a.m. The fire was located on Churchill Blvd. near Taschereau Blvd.
Authorities say the cause of the blaze has not yet been determined but seems to be accidental.
No injuries were reported.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area as emergency crews respond. One lane of Taschereau Boulevard, near Churchill Boulevard in the direction of Montreal, is partially blocked.
