Woman struck in Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve collision dies two days later

A 75-year-old woman who was struck by a vehicle on May 20 in Montreal’s Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough has died from her injuries.

The collision happened at the intersection of Haig Ave. and Sherbrooke Est street and involved an 18-year-old driver.

Police initially believed the pedestrian’s injuries were not life-threatening, but authorities later confirmed the woman died on May 22.

According to preliminary information, speed was not considered a factor in the collision.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
