22-year-old man dies after stabbing at Montreal North Walmart

A 22-year-old man has died after being stabbed inside a Walmart in Montreal North on Tuesday afternoon, Montreal police (SPVM)  confirmed.

Authorities were called to the store on Henri-Bourassa Blvd., near Lacordaire Blvd., around 4:30 p.m.

According SPVM, the victim was stabbed in the upper body during an altercation involving a group of individuals that began inside the store. The victim was later found outside the business.

The man was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The homicide marks Montreal’s ninth murder of the year.

The suspects fled the scene, and no arrests have been made. The motive for the attack remains unknown.

Due to the severity of the case, the SPVM’s Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.

Investigators remained on scene gathering evidence, speaking with witnesses, and reviewing surveillance footage in an effort to identify those responsible.
