REM service resumes gradually on Brossard line after being down for several hours

REM service is gradually resuming service between Canora and Côte-de-Liesse stations on the Brossard in both directions after an outage that lasted more than six hours starting Thursday morning.

In a social media post, REM said “problem on track” caused an interruption just after 6 a.m. Later in the morning, the transit agency said that service on a section of the line was suspended indefinitely as crews worked to identify the issue.

“We are currently experiencing a technical issue that is preventing service from operating on the affected section,” said Catherine Maurice, spokesperson for the REM operator Pulsar. “The situation is currently under investigation by our technical teams.”

The service was operating normally between Brossard and McGill stations and between Côte-de-Liesse and Deux-Montagnes stations and between Côte-de-Liesse and Anse-à-l’Orme stations.

Shuttle bus service was available between McGill and Canora station during the interruption.
