NTP confirms EF1 tornado hit Harrington, QC, on Tuesday after powerful storm

The Northern Tornadoes Project (NTP) has confirmed that an EF1 tornado touched down in Harrington, in Quebec’s Laurentians, on Tuesday evening.

According to the NTP, the tornado packed maximum winds of up to 175 km/h. A team of specialists visited the area on Thursday to assess the extent of the damage.

The storm left a path of destruction through forested areas, where hundreds of trees appeared to have been snapped or cut down.

Along Red River Road, fallen conifers and hydro poles lay scattered across the landscape, marking the tornado’s path.
