Driver in injured after vehicle crashes into tree in Pointe-Claire

A 61-year-old man was seriously injured after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a tree in Pointe-Claire on Montreal’s West Island Tuesday afternoon.

Montreal police (SPVM) say a 911 call was received at about 12:55 p.m. reporting a single-vehicle collision on Sources Boulevard between Hymus Boulevard and Avro Street.

According to preliminary information, the driver was travelling northbound on Sources Boulevard when, for reasons that have not yet been determined, the vehicle struck a tree.

Police said he was critical condition The man was quickly transported to a hospital, where his condition was initially considered life-threatening.

He is now in stable condition.

A security perimeter was established around the scene while collision investigators examined the area to determine the exact cause and circumstances of the crash.

Police said investigators will also attempt to interview witnesses as the investigation continues.
