Montreal Pride parade returns this weekend

Thousands of people are expected to gather in downtown Montreal on Sunday, for the annual Fierté Montréal Pride Parade, the signature event marking the close of this year’s Pride festival.
The parade begins at 1 p.m. and will travel along René-Lévesque Boulevard from Robert-Bourassa Boulevard to Atateken Street under the 2026 theme, “Let’s Shine Together!” Organizers say the event celebrates the diversity of the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities while recognizing the progress made in advancing equality and inclusion.
A moment of silence will be observed at 2 p.m. to honour those who have lost their lives to homophobia, transphobia, biphobia, lesbophobia and AIDS, as well as missing and murdered Indigenous 2SLGBTQIA+ people.
Motorists should expect road closures and traffic disruptions in the area. Mansfield Street will be closed in both directions between De la Gauchetière and Cathcart streets. Additional closures are expected along the parade route, and drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes.
The parade is free to attend, with spectators invited to line the route in support of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
