Montreal police seek suspect in alleged attempted murder in RDP

Montreal police are turning to the public for help in identifying a suspect in an alleged attempted murder in Rivière-des-Prairies earlier this spring.

The SPVM says officers were called to Élie-Beauregard Avenue and Perras Boulevard on May 18 at 9:15 p.m. about a person injured by a sharp object.

Police arrived on scene to find a 49-year-old man with injuries to his upper and lower body. The victim was taken to hospital.

“The circumstances surrounding this armed assault remain unknown at this time,” the SPVM said in a news release Tuesday.

Authorities are sharing photos of a suspect who is about six-foot-one to six-foot-five, with black hair styled in dreadlocks reaching his shoulders. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and white shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
