Restaurant set on fire overnight in Montreal’s Villeray—Saint-Michel—Parc-Extension

A restaurant located on Jean-Talon Street East, near De Lorimier Avenue, in Montreal was the target of arson overnight from Sunday to Monday.
Montreal police (SPVM) were called to the restaurant in the Villeray—Saint-Michel—Parc-Extension borough around 2 a.m. at the request of the fire department.
“According to initial findings, a suspect reportedly smashed the restaurant’s window before using an incendiary substance to start the fire,” explained Manuel Couture, a spokesperson for the SPVM, on Monday morning.

A crime scene has been established at the location. Investigators will visit the scene to try to determine the exact circumstances surrounding this incident.

“No arrests have been made so far, and no one was injured in this incident,” noted Couture.
