Gas prices climb back above $2/L in Montreal

Gas prices again reached $2 a litre in Greater Montreal, with ongoing turmoil in the Middle East putting pressure on global oil markets and hitting motorists at the pump.
Several Montreal stations were charging exactly $2 a litre on Monday.
Prices remained slightly lower off the island, with some stations in Brossard and Longueuil selling gas for $1.90 a litre.
The average is about $1.86 in Quebec City, $1.75 in Gatineau and $1.80 in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean.
Concerns over fuel shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil route, have contributed to renewed pressure on prices as conflict in the region continues.
