Montreal’s Parc Jean-Drapeau blue-collar workers to strike for one day

Blue-collar workers at Parc Jean-Drapeau will go on a one-day strike next Monday.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), of which they are members, made the announcement on Thursday.
There are 299 blue-collar workers who are CUPE members, just like the blue-collar workers for the City of Montreal, who plan to go on strike for seven days starting Tuesday.
The blue-collar workers at Parc Jean-Drapeau had gathered last Monday to vote on the employer’s offer, which they rejected by a margin of 95.9 percent.
In mid-August, they had secured a strike mandate that could extend to an indefinite general strike. This will be their first day of the strike.
