SQ non-emergency phone lines facing technical problems

A technical problem is affecting several non-urgent telephone lines at the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) since Sunday evening.
Calls to *4141 and to 310-4141 were impacted in some areas, SQ said in a statement.
“Police services remain fully operational,” SQ said. “Contingency measures have been put in place, and the relevant partners are continuing their efforts to restore normal operations as soon as possible.”
Sunday’s outage comes on the heels of another telephone outage at the SQ on Sept. 17. However, the provincial police agency says they do not believe the two incidents were related.
Public requiring urgent police assistance are asked to call 911.
For all other assistance, citizens are asked to contact their local police stations.
