Quebec election: Early voting begins this week

The Quebec election is less than two weeks away.
Anyone unable to cast a vote on Oct. 5 — or anyone who simply prefers voting early — can do so beginning this week.
Early voting
There are five days of early voting. This must be done at the office of the returning officer in each riding.
- Sept. 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sept. 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Sept. 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sept. 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Oct. 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The wait time may be longer if voting this way, Élections Quebec warns.
Advance voting
Another option is advance voting, which takes place Sept. 27-28.
Advance polling stations will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The address of the advance polling stations in each riding is available online or on the notices received in the mail.
Vote on election day
Polling stations will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on election day, Oct. 5.
Voters are asked to bring one of the following pieces of identification:
- Québec driver’s licence
- Health insurance card
- Canadian passport
- Indian status card
- Canadian Forces identification card
Voters are not required to bring their reminder card, but Élections Quebec says it could speed up the process.
