Man seriously injured after stabbing in Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve

A 49-year-old man was seriously injured by a sharp object Monday night in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough of Montreal.

The SPVM went to Ontario Street East, near Desjardins Ave., around 8:10 p.m. They found the 49-year-old man with upper body injuries.

He was taken to a hospital, where police say he is in a stable condition.

At least one suspect reportedly fled the scene before police arrived. An investigation into the conflict that led to the attack is underway. No arrests have been made.
