Montreal forecast: Heavy rain Tuesday, sunshine Thursday and a chilly weekend

By News Staff

Montrealers can expect a wet start to the week, with heavy rain possible Tuesday before sunshine returns Thursday and temperatures take a dip heading into the weekend.

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a special weather statement for Montreal, the Montérégie, Bois-Francs and the Eastern Townships, warning that rainfall amounts could reach 40 to 60 millimetres Tuesday afternoon and evening.

The rain could lead to water pooling on roads and in low-lying areas.

The weather agency says a nearly stationary warm front associated with a low-pressure system moving south of the border will bring bands of heavy rain to the affected regions.
