Gas prices drop in Montreal

Montrealers woke up to some good news at the pumps Wednesday, with gas prices dropping by as much as 16 cents per litre.

The decrease is linked to a recent drop in crude oil prices of more than $10 per barrel over the past week.

Regular gasoline prices dropped across the region, with prices as low as 178.9 cents per litre at an Ultramar station on Saint-Laurent Boulevard in Montreal.

Gasoline prices had remained high across the region, with many stations charging as much as 194.9 cents per litre before the drop.

Although the decrease offers drivers a break, analysts warn that fuel price forecasts remain volatile and can shift quickly depending on geopolitical developments.
