Two hotels to house Montreal’s homeless

Montreal will have two hotels help house the homeless as part of it’s state of emergency.
One will offer beds to 111 people who tested positive for COVID-19, but do not require a hospital stay, as well as those who are waiting for test results and need to isolate.
It will go into operation this week, managed by the Centre-Sud regional health authority and the Old Brewery Mission.
A second hotel will offer 50 emergency beds to homeless from the Indigenous community, as of February in the Milton-Parc area. It will be managed by the Projets autochtones du Québec.
The city did not make public the addresses of the two hotels.
The state of emergency allows the city to intervene in situations without having to issue a call for tenders.
It was first declared March 27, 2020, and lifted Aug. 23, but Montreal was once again put under a state of emergency Dec. 21.
